Mohd Shukri Abdullah, the Chief Executive Officer of Shapers Malaysia, the organiser of the event, said the company will add more booths to attract visitors to the event to be held at the Putra World Trade Centre.

He said Halfest 2012 had about 711 booths from the 637 last year.

"Halfest, together with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), will select 20 booths to join the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS)," he added.

MIHAS is an annual trade fair designed to bring together products and services that are halal-compliant from around the world.

MARA Director (Entrepreneur), Yahya Ibrahim said the selected booths or companies must be ready at anytime to export their products while ensuring quality.

Meanwhile, Halfest, along with its strategic partners, MARA and CIMB Islamic celebrated 55 iPad winners, who were visitors to the Halfest 2012.

Also receiving prizes were winners of the "Cabaran Dapur Cilik" and "Ratu Resipi Malaysia". Both events were also held to commemorate Halfest.
