Federal govt allocates RM17.49mil for small rural projects in Kelantan

KOTA BARU: The Federal government has allocated RM17.49mil for 219 small projects to transform the rural areas in Kelantan this year.

Kelantan Federal Development Department director, Datuk Makhtar Mustafa said RM5.71mil was allocated to the Rural and Regional Development Ministry to implement 40 projects like community centres, small bridges, rural roads and futsal courts.

The Health Department was allocated RM5.46mil for implementing 22 projects like upgrading of rural health clinics.

Makhtar said the Education Department was allocated RM3.32mil to implement 56 projects, including building and upgrading new suraus.

"The Drainage and Irrigation Department was allocated RM3mil to implement 101 projects like upgrading ditches," he told reporters after chairing the department's working committee meeting here Wednesday.

A total of 152 of the 219 projects have already been completed while the remaining 67 projects are expected to be completed by year-end. - Bernama
