BERA: More mini 1Malaysia retail shops (KR1M) are to be established in orang asli settlements nationwide.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who announced this, added that the communities would operate the outlets themselves.

“This is to enable the orang asli community to obtain their daily
necessities at reasonable prices as well as to help train them in
business.
“We also want to create more entrepre-neurs within the orang asli community,” he said after a dialogue with them here yesterday.
Ismail Sabri, who is also Bera MP, advised the orang asli not to fall prey to “empty sweet talk” of the Opposition.
He told them that only the Barisan Nasional would be able to help them.
“We will implement projects for your benefit, even if some are delayed at times,'' he added.
