DPMM President Datuk Syed Ali Alattas said the roundtable would be
important to discuss various issues raised at the congress, particularly
in ensuring the continued well being of Malay entrepreneurs.
"The roundtable to be held in February next year is expected to see the
participation of 88 representatives from various business councils and
the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers," Syed Ali told reporters here
today.
The meeting will also explain and clarify on some misconceptions held
by several parties which have described DPMM as "having regressed" with
the recent resolutions it has taken.
"We will, together with the other business chambers, study the
resolutions with the hope of finding the best step towards a solution,"
he said.
Syed Ali said among the issues that will be given attention would be
the issue of government agencies and their relevance in the development
of the entrepreneurs community.
He also expressed hope that the government would provide clear
directions to its agencies to ensure the effective implementation of the
New Economic Policy.
Following the success of the 2012 Malay Economic Congress, DPMM is also
expected to hold state-level meetings of the Malay Economic Congress
beginning January next year.
