The owner of the company, Azarita Azizan, however said there were
several restrictions to overcome and conditions to be met first before
the company could make its entry into the two markets.
"Actually there have already been export requests but several
restrictions placed on manufacturers such as Legasi Makmur, have made it
difficult to enter the market," she told Bernama here today.
She however declined to give details of the conditions that were
preventing the company's market expansion in the two countries.
Azarita said Legasi Makmur currently sold about RM24,000 worth of the
pineapple tarts a month including in the domestic market, UK and Qatar.
She said the company was also looking to enhance its biscuit delivery
system to overseas compared with the present mode where the company
sends the tarts directly to the individual buyers.
Once the system is improved, the company would be delivering the
biscuits in badges wholesale to the main distributor or the company's
representative in the respective market or country.
On the sales success of the tarts, she said it started when information
on the biscuits she produced was posted on the Facebook social network,
which attracted buyers from her kampung in Lembah Jaya.
