Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik
Raja Zainal Abidin said currently, there were many traders scattered
here and there along roads leading to the market, creating an eyes-sore
and traffic congestion.
"The project has started off smoothly where we are taking over several
plots of land for the additional shoplots while the building design had
been decided after two meetings," he said after opening the 'Smart
Cities Smart Living' seminar, here, Thursday.
Also present were Minister of State for the British Government Alan
Duncan, British High Commissioner to Malaysia Simon Featherstone and
about 100 professionals including architects, engineers and developers
from Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
Raja Nong Chik said Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) needed an additional
allocation from the government to build the additional shoplots at the
market.
