Its Sales and Marketing Director, Mohd Hairiezan Rasli, said Z'tasty was the result of the rebranding of Terengganu's leading crackers producer, Sinku Food Industri Sdn Bhd.

"The establishment of Z'tasty is to compete with other leading brands in the international arena," he told Bernama here today.

Its main products currently include fish and prawn based crackers and fish paste, while there are plans to introduce other seafood based products.

Z'testy currently has its operations in the Chendering Halal Hub here with a production capacity of three to five metric tonnes a day.

He said Sinku Food Industri Sdn Bhd was owned by Bumiputera entrepreneurs and had been provided withh assistance in terms of equipment from the Terengganu Entrepreneurs Foundation (YPU), Mardi as well as the Fishing Department.

The company, which started in 2005 with its premises rented from the Terengganu Economic Development Corporation (PMINT), has plans to have its own premises in the future.

For next year, Mohd Hairiezan said, Z'testy will set up 30 Z'testy Kiosks which will be located in various shopping centres in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor and Georgetown.

This is to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs keen to enter the seafood trading business, he said.

He said Z'testy also had the opportunity to promote its products in London last year when YPU Terengganu officers held a food festival there.

On the plan to venture into the European market, he said the company will be doing this with the help of Angkasa Food, a subsidiary of Angkatan Koperasi Malaysia Bhd.

Towards this, he said Z'testy was also working on getting its halal certification done.

He said the company was confident of its production capacity and was now concentrating on getting the overseas market. -- BERNAMA
