"We see Malaysia as an Asian tiger and are ready to receive valuable insights.
"Kazakhstan's women entrepreneurs hope to go further in business and
are keen to learn from the best, particularly Malaysia, and in terms of
innovation," said Kazakhstan Association of Businesswomen president,
Raushan Sarsembayeva.
She said this in her opening speech at the Kazakhstan-Malaysia Forum,
"Unleashing Women Entrepreneurship Potential" here, today.
Raushan said the quest for business opportunities in Kazakhstan was
widening and the association hoped to help more women venture into this
sector.
She highlighted that the association had trained about 2,500 women over
the past five years, with 90 per cent of them being employed in various
sectors, and the rest having opened up their own businesses.
"We are very glad to see their achievement and hope it will increase over the years," she said.
In a related development, a participant welcomed the suggestion by the
Malaysian Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in her keynote
address at the forum, that women should not compare their success with
men.
Aizhan Yermekbayeva, 29, who operates an education centre said women
should have their own approach and use their unique abilities to attain
success.
She also hoped to collaborate with Malaysian universities which were
very popular among Kazakhstan students due to their quality.
The inaugural forum was jointly organised by the Kazakhstan Association
of Businesswomen and SME Corporation Malaysia and attended by 250
businesswomen from both countries.
