Dubbed "REDtone Fibre+", the new service comes in four plans with the
monthly subscription fee starting from RM199 for 5 Mbps, RM499 for 10
Mbps, RM799 for 20 Mbps and the fastest speed of 30 Mbps at RM999.
The ACE Market-listed company is also offering a new value-add
service, Google Apps, to provide businesses an extra edge in areas of
efficiency, productivity and speed while reducing information technology
cost.
"The launch of REDtone Fibre+ underscores the importance of the SME
segment to REDtone. Currently, SMEs make up about 70% of the company's
total customer base," said REDtone in a statement yesterday.
"While REDtone already has a strong grip on the country's SME sector,
we believe that there are still good growth opportunities and sees
REDtone Fibre+ as one way of helping the company to get a larger slice
of the pie," it added.
REDtone group CEO Lau Bik Soon said as REDtone Fibre+ rides on TM's
nationwide high speed broadband (HSBB) network, it will enable REDtone
to reach out to more SMEs, and the new service will also complement the
company's current data offerings for the SME sector.
"All these are a part of continuous efforts to strengthen REDtone's
data business. The data segment has been driving the group's turnover
and profit, and currently contributes close to 50% just like our voice
business to the total revenue.
"We expect our data business to contribute 50% to the group's profit by the end of this financial year 2013," he said.
