Chief Executive Officer of Tesco Malaysia Georg Fischer said the company
remained committed to supporting the Malaysian small and medium
enterprises (SMEs) and helping them gained greater exposure in the
international market.
"As a leading multinational retailer, Tesco is in a unique position to
offer Malaysian suppliers the opportunities to go global.
"Today, we are glad to see 15 Malaysian SMEs joining us in the TOM
programme. These products have gone through meticulous processes and
evaluation to ensure they meet all the necessary requirements and
certification of the Korean authorities," he said in a statement here
Monday.
The product line ranges from biscuits, dried seafood, sauces, soft
drinks and frozen food to chocolates and ready-to-eat meals, he said.
"As Koreans and Malaysians share a lot of cultural similarities and
mutual love for food, we are confident that the Korean customers will
enjoy the TOM products," he added.
This year is the fourth year of Tesco's participation in the TOM programme.
