Of this, RM11.5 million would be used to set up a commercial complex in
Kubang Menerong, Seberang Perai, and RM5 million for the implementation
of the 2012/13 Support Scheme for Mid-Level Bumiputera Entrepreneurs.
Nor Mohamed, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister's Department,
said the latest initiative was aimed at further developing Bumiputera
SMEs and to increase their share of contribution to the national
economy.
He said SMEs' share to the Gross Domestic Product was still low compared to 80 per cent in South Korea.
Nor Mohamed was speaking to reporters after officiating the 2012/13
Support Scheme for Mid-Level Bumiputera Entrepreneurs and presentation
of support grants to 38 companies.
