As of October 2012, the company producing the "Coolblog" beverage has
opened 230 outlets, and will have 250 by year-end, said Business
Operations Manager Muhammad Daniel Koh.
"We have a presence in almost all the main towns, so we are now moving
into smaller towns like Simpang Renggam and Pekan Nanas," he told
Bernama after introducing Coolblog ambassador Heliza Helmi here Monday.
Muhammad Daniel said Coolblog will not be limited to just shopping centres.
"The locations chosen by the licensee will be reviewed for at least a
week, areas near banks, supermarkets and colleges will also be
considered," he said.
The Johor-based company is confident it can achieve its target on the
back of high demand since it began operations three years ago. It has
two warehouses in Johor Baharu employing some 250 workers, excluding
those manning the kiosks.
"We are confident of the Coolblog brand as it is certifed halal, we send
product samples to the lab every three months for tests on the
ingredients' safety, and the prices, from RM1.80 a cup, are reasonable,"
Muhammad Daniel said, adding each Coolblog outlet can sell 300 to 500
cups a day.
A potential Coolblog licensee needs a start-up capital of about
RM120,000 covering kiosk rental, management, trained workers, equipment,
ingredients, licence and training, he said.
Coolblog won the "Best Booth" award at the 2012 Halal Festival held at
the Putra World Trade Centre, and the Golden Bull Award 2012 as one of
the "100 Outstanding SMEs."
