Managing Director Rosli Adam told Bernama his company has allocated RM5
million in paid-up capital in 2013 to expand its paint line-up to 14
types from the current eight.
"We also aim to enhance our company's image by improving the quality of
our packaging and brand," he said, adding it has set aside RM500,000
for advertising and promotions besides allocating two per cent of annual
sales to research and development.
"Our products are on par with international products as they use green
technology and are environmentally-friendly, having low volatile
organic compound content and SIRIM's Eco-Labelling Certification
Licence.
"Our paints are also cheaper than other brands besides having a
five-year warranty," he said, adding the company plans to raise
production capacity five-fold from the current 230,000 litres a month,"
he said.
He expressed confidence in achieving next year's sales target of RM5
million from RM1.2 million currently, saying the company has won
contracts worth RM2 million for painting government buildings.
Rosli said buildings in Kuala Lumpur which use Bina Paint include the
Works Ministry headquarters, City Hall housing projects and Universiti
Teknologi Malaysia student residential halls in Jalan Semarak.
The company will also place 100 tinting machines in its hardware shops to make it easier for customers to make their choice.
Bina Paint is already marketed in India and Sri Lanka, and the company plans to expand to the Middle East and Africa.
Established in 1990, Bina Integrated Industries began producing its own
paints in 2005 after several years of research in cooperation with local
universities. With headquarters in Seri Kembangan and a factory in
Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, it has some 140 workers at 11 branches
nationwide.
