The companies are organising a special programme, "Coaching For You@SME", to help SMEs accelerate business development.

MMAM managing director Jasmin Baba said the SMEs will be coached based on South Korean methods, focusing on expediting employees' talents and business competencies.

MMAM expects more than 100 SMEs to participate in the programme, which is also open to government-linked companies.

"InCoaching has helped many companies over the years and they have been proven successful," Jasmin told a press conference after signing a partnership agreement with InCoaching here yesterday.

SME Corp chief executive officer Datuk Hafsah Hashim, who was also at the event, said South Korea's small and medium industry (SMI) is one of the drivers of the country's economic growth.

"Many developing nations want to emulate the phenomenal economic success of South Korea, whose SMI contributes significantly to its gross domestic product," Hafsah said.

InCoaching has trained more than 500 companies in South Korea, as well as 33 country leaders.

MMAM, a subsidiary of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology and Multimedia Technology Enhancement Operations Sdn Bhd, was formed by the government to develop human capital and talents.
