He said this was evident from SWEPA'S commitment to honing the skills of
its members by organising conferences and conventions on relevant and
important topics, including the recent two-day SWEPA Entrepreneurship
Programme 101.
"This is a very good example of a non-governmental organisation serving
its members and contributing to the community and doing what is very
much in line with the association's vision and mission.
"This will in turn help us to collectively create a more vibrant
economy in Sabah. I applaud SWEPA for your hard work, and I hope that
you will continue to come up with dynamic activities for members," he
said in his speech at the SWEPA 20th anniversary dinner here last night.
The text of his speech was read out by State Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid.
Musa said SWEPA played its role effectively not only in promoting the
rights of women in business but also in contributing to the economy.
"It is also an accessible platform for members to make their voices
heard about challenges that they face and suggestions that they may
have. This is why SWEPA is such a strong household name today.
"SWEPA has constantly provided feedback to the government on the
inclusion of women in decision-making roles, and you have also given
ideas on how the government can improve certain aspects related to the
well-being of women," he said.
Musa assured SWEPA that the Sabah government took note of the concerns and matters that it had raised.
