KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 — The Malaysia External Trade Development
Corporation (Matrade) mission to the Offshore Technology Conference
(OTC)2013 in Texas, the United States, generated RM5.5 billion in
projects and product sales.

The Malaysian delegation comprised 29 oil and gas companies, government agencies and related associations.
In a statement, Matrade chief executive officer Datuk Wong Lai Sum said it was encouraging to note that SME exhibitors were able to generate sales and projects worth RM889 million.
She was also of the view that Malaysian SMEs in the oil and gas industry should collaborate among themselves to achieve the economies of scale to be in the supply chain of bigger players.
Two local companies, Deleum Bhd and Wasco Energy Group made the country proud at the OTC 2013 held from May 6-9.
Deleum Bhd was chosen by the OTC to present a technical paper, Thermo Chemical In-Situ Heat Generation Technique to Remove Organic Solid Deposition: Effective Tool for Production Enhancement and Flow Assurance.
Meanwhile, Wasco Energy Group was awarded the OTC 2013 Spotlight Award for its new Neptune material. – Bernama
