Melaka Halal Hub Sdn Bhd (MHH-SB) wants to expand the market for its halal products to Asean countries.
Managing Director Datin Norsabrina Mohd Noor said the 54.23 ha. hub
in Serkam Jasin, with 58 Small and Medium Enterprise factories with Good
Manufacturing Practice (GMP) status and complying with halal
specifications, is a one-stop halal products manufacturing and
distribution centre.
"It's also a logistics, research and development, warehousing,
packaging and labelling centre for halal products, besides acting as a
halal tourism and halal products test centre offering halal
certification consultancy," she told an
'Asean Working Group On Halal Food' delegation on a one-day visit to the hub here today.
The 50-strong delegation, led by the Ministry of International Trade
and Industry's Entrepreneur Development Division Senior Director
Dato'Abdul Ghafar Musa, comprises government officials from Malaysia,
Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei and Cambodia. -- Bernama
