"We will be looking at solutions for the logistics side, as well as for the field force," Fitri Abdullah, its senior vice-president for enterprise and government business, said yesterday.

Maxis also plans to introduce femtocell solutions for its enterprise customers over the near term.

A femtocell is a small cellular base station typically designed for use in a home or small business.

It works like a "mini base station", allowing service providers to extend service coverage indoors, especially where access would otherwise be limited or unavailable.

Fitri was speaking to the media after the launch of "Built for SME - Retail" solutions yesterday.

The Built for SME - Retail is an all-in-one integrated solution for retail SMEs.

Business owners who sign upfor the plan will be able to use services like high-speed broadband, CCTV (close-circuit television) solutions, business-related software as well as corporate mobile call plans.

"The retail solution that we are launching is aimed at providing SMEs with a competitive edge by offering them a communications solutions that are reliable, competitively priced and simple to set up, which will help to manage their costs and resources more effectively, increase productivity and grow their business more effectively," said Maxis joint chief operating officer Mark Dioguardi.

Its high-speed broadband for businesses, dubbed Maxis Business Fibre Internet, allows customers to enjoy fibre Internet of up to 32 Megabits per second (Mbps).

Its CCTV solutions will be riding on Maxis' high-speed broadband network.

The business-related software it is offering to customers such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions will be accessible via Maxis Cloud - its most advanced, real-time and fully managed cloud service.

The company said the Built for SME - Retail solutions offer value to customers.

For example, under Package 1, where a customer opts for two units of CCTV cameras with a broadband speed of 16 Mbps, a 500GB hard disk drive and others, one needs to pay RM718 a month.

Customers would need to pay RM1,048 a month if they want four units of CCTV cameras, 32Mbps of broadband speed, and a 1,000 hard disk drive.

Maxis hopes these solutions can help the company grow its retail SME customer base.
