KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 (Bernama) -- Small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
that went through the Groom Big programme, a joint initiative of the
Ministry of International Trade and Industry and Malaysian Productivity
Corporation (MPC), have seen sales go up an average 9.95 per cent and
export-readiness by 14.72 per cent.

"They have also reduced raw material wastage by 11.32 per cent, while
adherence to international standards has jumped from 9.95 per cent to
78.34 per cent," MITI Senior Director, Entrepreneur Development
Division, Datuk Abdul Ghafar Musa said.
He was speaking at a seminar on the programme, which ran from early
2011 to late 2012, and certificate presentation at MPC at Petaling Jaya
near here Wednesday.
Meanwhile, MPC Senior Director Abdul Rahim Yusoff said the nine
companies that completed the programme have improved their
export-readiness, work process efficiency and customer loyalty while
reducing product defects and raw material wastage.
