Small and Medium Industries Association president Teh Kee Sin acknowledged that the contribution made by the Government had helped SMEs grow from strength to strength over the past few years.

He pointed out that SMEs and the Government were working together in ensuring that their products were competitive in the world market and contribute to the nation's economy.

“The Government, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, has helped SMEs tremendously, especially in terms of financial support,” he said.

Teh added that the Government had introduced numerous financial supports, which made it easier for SMEs to gain loans and grow their business.

He also said that to ensure that SMEs would be able to achieve 41% by 2020, local SMEs were waiting for good news that was expected to be announced by Najib later this month.
