KUALA LUMPUR: Information and communications
technology (ICT) company Arahe Solutions Sdn Bhd (Arahe) will no
longer be categorised as small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) as it
is gearing up to be listed on the London Stock Exchange in June this
year to become a globalised ICT entity.
See-To wants to create a business that is valued based on the
performance of Arahe's technology, while adding that many worldwide
technology companies do not really look at Malaysia for acquisition
targets.
"We want people overseas to acknowledge that our company continues to grow," See-To said.
Arahe was started by See-To in November 2005 and the company is in the
business of developing technologies and products that are sold to local
and overseas customers.
He said about 60 per cent of the company's customers are from overseas
and he aimed to grow the number to 95 per cent in the long run.
See-To said Arahe has two main lines of business - SiteCelerate, its
major revenue earner; and Facado Rich Internet Application Business
(Facado).
SiteCelerate is a web optimisation and acceleration
system that delivers faster performance, use less bandwidth, handles
more users and more secured. It optimises and accelerates images and
text for servers delivering websites and web applications.
"With SiteCelerate, it is harder for people to hack the website and it goes beyond the traditional firewall," he said.
The company has won several awards such as the MSC Apicta award in
Malaysia and represented Malaysia at the Asia-Pacific ICT Awards in
2008, held in Jakarta, where it received merit recognition in the
category for Best of Tools and Infrastructure, with its SiteCelerate
product.
Facado is a development platform that allows the
creation and deployment of dynamic user interfaces for web-based
enterprise application and delivers the client-side user interface
solution for the emerging web services computing model.
Arahe's
products have been widely used by local and international companies from
different industries. Some of its clients include Media Prima Bhd,
Malayan Banking Bhd, CIMB Bank, Bursa Malaysia, DHL, Hong Leong Bank and
Singapore's Ministry of National Development.
The company plans
to open an office in Thailand, Brazil and the Middle East. Currently,
it has three offices in Kuala Lumpur and a sales representative office
in Mumbai, China, Jakarta and Singapore.
Speaking on Arahe's
future plans, See-To said with the emergence of handphones, smartphones,
tablets and the fact that many people tend to go online, he hoped to
provide technology that is useful to its clients, while giving them
better services.
"We are just purely a technology company ...
we want to create the Arahe brand of technology products ... we just
want the best for our customers, but of course, we tend to give
preference to local companies," he said.
